As a federation of organizations, the CCF/FCMA is primarily focused on craft sector networking. We tackle the challenge of connecting this broad community across great geographic divides in many ways throughout the year, but the most exciting of all is through our annual conference. And this year, ‘Intersections & Interconnexions’ will really shake things up!
With a focus exclusively on collaborative action and development in the Contemporary fine craft community, ‘Intersections & Interconnexions’ will directly benefit those working in, with and for Canadian craft based organizations. The itinerary includes a mixture of presentations, panel discussions, networking sessions and open-concept breakout discussions, inspiring new approaches to significant challenges for craft organizations. Through the lens of collaboration, session topics will include increasing multiculturalism and diversity, the new funding model at the Canada Council, improved membership services, and increasing audience reach.
Best of all, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other professionals in your field. Arts administrators, board members, committee members, and anyone with a keen interest in strengthening craft organizations and the connections that bind the community together are welcome to participate. Whether you represent a Craft Council, a Guild, an Educational Institution or otherwise, this conference is designed for you.
In partnership with the Art Gallery of Burlington and Craft Ontario, the Intersections & Interconnexions conference is timed perfectly to compliment the exciting new Canadian Craft Biennial. As the CCF/FCMA events wrap, the Biennial’s Can Craft? Craft Can! conference begins! Delegates of the Intersections & Interconnexions conference will receive a discount towards Can Craft? Craft Can! We are delighted to align our events in order to ensure the highest level of exposure to contemporary fine craft programming possible.
We hope you’ll join us for all the exciting events to come in Ontario. Stay tuned as more details and registration information is released.
