It’s that time of year again. As many of you know, the deadline (March 1) for the Jean A. Chalmers Fund is fast approaching. Each year the Canadian Council for the Arts supports unique initiatives in the craft community through issuing grants. The endowment of $500,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations and arts professionals.Individual artists can apply for Research and Policy Development Assistance. This grant is intended to “…contribute to the direct costs of investigating or documenting historical or contemporary developments in the fine crafts, as well as issues that arise from the practice of the art form.” The average grant issued ranges from $5,000 to $7,000. Good Luck on your applications!
