An opportunity to connect with leaders in the field of cultural planning, development, funding and creation, the Culture Days: National Congress is set to take place May 22nd and 23rd, 2014. Hosted by the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the event will feature live sessions on site, and online! While the networking benefits of the live event are a definite bonus, the open accessibility of the live stream is sure to attract many who cannot be there in person.
Keynote speaker, Minister of Culture Shelly Glover, will present her lecture: “The Road to 2017 and Canadian Arts and Culture: Strong, Proud and Free”. With the 150th anniversary of Canada just 2.5 years away, this lecture may shine much needed light onto the government’s plans to celebrate this national milestone.
Other topics important to those working culture include branding, organizational relevancy, community engagement, digital marketing and more. With speakers from the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Business for the Arts, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Alberta Culture and many more, the perspectives and experience on stage will be wide ranging and informative.
