Changes at the CCF/FCMA

It is with heart-felt well wishes that we announce that our long-time Executive Director, Maegen Black, will be leaving our organization to take on a new type of leadership role in the arts as Associate Dean of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Maegen’s last day with the CCF/FCMA will be Wednesday, August 3rd.

Please join us in congratulating Maegen for over 16 years of service to the craft sector in Canada, and for her passion and enthusiasm in her role, advocating as the national craft voice for our members.

“I cannot express how much I have enjoyed my time working for the CCF/FCMA. I consider myself extremely lucky to have worked with such an incredible range of passionate, dedicated individuals and teams, many of whom I consider mentors, friends, and inspirations. To the many craft artists, curators, educators and arts administrators: you are dreamers who make dreams happen. Thank you for your camaraderie all these years. I remain dedicated to the craft sector, am thrilled to continue down a new road within it, and am excited to see where new leadership will advance the ongoing important work of the CCF/FCMA into the future.”

With this announcement, we have posted the role of Executive Director for the CCF/FCMA.  Please spread the word far and wide.  A leadership change such as this affords an exciting opportunity to adapt, change, and grow.  As we always have, the CCF/FCMA will continue to create connections and champion craft as a federation of organizations that lift each other up, uniting the contemporary craft sector in Canada.

Our current plans are to continue with our same projects, and events, employing an interim operational plan, until such time as we are able to welcome our new Executive Director.

On behalf of the CCF/FCMA Board of Directors,

Tara

Chair, Canadian Crafts Federation
