Call for Candidacy – Canada Summer Jobs: LMS Development & Curriculum Support Worker

The Canadian Crafts Federation / Fédération canadienne des métiers d’art (CCF/FCMA) is seeking a motivated and digitally savvy summer student to join our team as an LMS development and curriculum support person. This exciting opportunity will support the development, organization, and population of its new national Learning Management System (LMS), which will serve arts administrators and partner craft councils across Canada. This role is central to the creation of a national hub for digital learning in the craft sector, offering the participant the opportunity to learn about curriculum design, arts administration, and digital project development within a collaborative, professional environment. The participant will assist in structuring courses, uploading learning materials, ensuring content accuracy, organizing module flow, and supporting the creation of engaging digital resources that enhance professional development opportunities for craftspeople nationwide.

Contract Duration: 8 weeks of 35 hours, ending before August 29, 2026
Total Hours: 280 hours
Hourly Wage: $18.00
Work Environment: Remote – Home Office
Languages Required: English and French (Intermediate oral, reading, and writing)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the design and population of online course modules, including uploading videos, text lessons, images, worksheets, quizzes, and evaluation tools.
  • Conducting research on learning models used by arts organizations, museums, and post-secondary institutions to help refine LMS structure, navigation, and accessibility practices. 
  • Supporting the implementation of digital learning pathways related to entrepreneurship in craft, sustainable studio practices, equity and inclusion, digital literacy for makers, and professional practice in a national arts ecosystem. 
  • Working closely with the project team to prepare content for publication, including editing text, organizing assets, ensuring accessibility and improving user experience. 
  • Preparing metadata, captions, transcripts, accessibility notes, and standardized templates used across the LMS to help ensure consistency and compliance with accessibility standards. 
  • Supporting communications related to the LMS rollout by drafting course summaries, preparing promotional copy, and assisting with social media or newsletter content related to professional development. 
  • Coordinating with craft councils to gather learning materials, case studies, and region-specific professional development examples.
  • Assisting with administrative coordination, including scheduling and hosting project meetings, maintaining documentation, updating progress trackers, organizing shared files, and supporting internal reporting. 
  • Supporting basic analytics review, including tracking user engagement during testing phases, organizing collected data, and contributing to recommendations for improving the learning environment. 
  • Helping prepare digital tools and workflows using emerging technologies such as captioning tools, transcription tools, and basic AI-supported organizational systems, while learning safe and ethical digital practices. 
  • Assisting with digital asset management, including naming conventions, file organization, and preparing content for long-term stewardship within the LMS and the CCFʼs Resource Hub. 
  • Contributing to discussions on culturally responsive curriculum design, including optional research into Indigenous perspectives on craft, regional contexts, and inclusive teaching practices.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
