As this sesquicentennial year in Canadian history winds to a close, the CCF/FCMA reflects on all the fine work and accomplishments of our many members, partners, and volunteers from across the country. Over the past 12 months, extraordinary work has been done to support, unite, and celebrate Canadian craft.

In Burlington, the Canadian Craft Biennial was born, book-ended by the CCF/FCMA”s national conference and the first ever Can Craft? Craft Can! Symposium. Every provincial and territorial craft council came together to support recommended changes to the National Occupational Classifications, aiming for better clarification of Canadian craft statistics at the federal level. A team of dedicated social media masters worked together on the #Craft150 campaign, sharing images of fine craft from all across the country under one hashtag (watch for our summary of this project in 2018).

These are just a few of the many exciting endeavors the national craft network took on this year. Thank you to everyone who contributed, we look forward to working together again in the new year.
