Mark your calendars!
In partnership with our member organization, the Craft Council of British Columbia, the CCF/FCMA is launching our most ambitious Annual Conference to date. Titled ‘10,000 Hours: Craft Invested’, this five day series of events will take place in Vancouver from October 18th to the 22nd, 2013.
Why BC, you might ask? Well it turns out 2013 is the 40th Anniversary of the Craft Council of British Columbia, an impressive milestone for the organization. What better way to celebrate than to shine a national spotlight on the achievements of the Council and the talented artists of the region?
The content of the conference will pique the interest of professionals working in all fields of craft, including artists, academics, curators and administrators, boutique and gallery workers, educators, hobbyists and patrons of craft in all forms. ‘10,000 Hours: Craft Invested’ is truly two conferences in one, with the first three days focused on professional development, craft theory and discussion, and the last two days focused on organizational development and networking. Activities will include something for everyone, from celebratory galas and exhibition openings to professional workshops, a provincial lecture series and our second annual
national craft symposium.
Details of the event including a schedule, information on speakers and registration, location details and more will be launched on the Craft Council of British Columbia’s brand new website in the very near future. In the meantime, the CCF/FCMA will be sure to keep you in the loop as the specifics are confirmed. Mark your calendars now!
