Renowned craft institution and CCF/FCMA Affiliate Member, the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery, has reopened their doors to the public. After extensive renovations, which kept the gallery only partially accessible since early September, this vital contributor to the Canadian contemporary fine craft community will once again host high quality exhibitions and events.

On January 13th and 14th, the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery kicks off the New Year with two major events: the Glass and Ceramics Awards Ceremony and the opening reception of a new exhibition, Trajectories. These events will also mark an occasion worth celebrating: the Gallery’s 25th Anniversary year. This milestone will be recognized throughout the year, with official celebrations taking place in June.

The CCF/FCMA congratulates the winners of this year’s Award for Glass, Monotserrat Duran Muntadas, and the Winnifred Shantz Award, Zimra Beiner, each of whom will speak during the January 13th events, alongside the first winners of each award, Susan Collett (2001) and Julia Reimer (2008) respectively. On January 14th, Trajectories will open, celebrating ten years of the Award for Glass, including work by Benjamin Kikkert, Ito Laïla Le François, Aaron Oussoren, Julia Reimer, Brad Turner, Cheryl Wilson Smith, and Rachael Wong.

Since opening in June of 1993, the Clay & Glass has been a vital part of the community. With these special events, we celebrate the longstanding and essential contribution this institution has made to the national craft milieu. here’s to the last 25 years – and (at least) 25 more!
